The 1970s were a decade that celebrated nature. From house plants to animals, the theme of nature was delightfully common. These past couple of years have seen a resurgence in the popularity of Seventies decor, and rightfully so! While many of us have been spending more time at home, it makes sense that our longing for nature would show up in our decor choices.
One particular theme that I gravitate toward, is vintage butterfly decor. Whether embroidered, brass, realistic – there is just something about 1970s butterflies! I am an accidental collector of butterflies. It was never my intention to seek out butterfly decor. Somehow, after countless estate sales and thrift stores, every room in my house has at least one subtle butterfly adornment.
To help you bring the nature indoors, I have scoured Etsy to bring you some beautiful vintage butterfly pieces from the 1970s and more!

A symbol of renewal, rebirth, and joy – the butterfly is a symbol we can all find a place for, these days. I am curious – do you enjoy incorporating symbolism into your home decor? Do you love vintage butterfly decor? Leave me a comment below and tell me about it!
