A Vintage Cable Car Souré Bag

I usually don’t shop for vintage online because I love the thrill of finding treasures in-person and for very little money. But, with the pandemic and all, I have been dying to do some secondhand shopping. In an effort to keep everyone in our household safe, I have been forgoing my usual estate sales and thrift shops for the past year…and I’ve been missing them terribly!
So, instead of doing in-person shopping, I have figured out creative ways to do safe pandemic shopping online. THIS is my first big find – a vintage wicker Souré Bag purse featuring a “Powell and Hyde Sts” San Francisco cable car. The sweet woman who sold it to me charged $10. This purse is a perfect welcome back to Northern California for this Northern Californian gal!
The cable car features Enid Collins-style jewels and metallic gold trim. If you are familiar with Souré Bags, you know that they are excellent quality. The purse is sturdy with very little vintage wear. While I am currently in the process of curating a vintage shop to share with you all, this purse is mine…as long as my three-year-old daughter doesn’t steal it from me. She loves it as much as I do!

You can expect to see more of my vintage finds shared here on Faedra. Some will be for sale, so keep your eyes on this blog for more rad vintage pieces.
