It’s been surreal to be living, once again, in my hometown. Last weekend, I spent a sunny day in a park with an old friend. We talked until it was so dark we couldn’t see each other from our socially-distanced blankets. It’s a strange coincidence to find ourselves living in our hometown at the same time, each for the first time since we were 18. I guess life is funny that way.
Each day since I have been back in my hometown, I have spent time outdoors. We are lucky here in California. We have sunshine. And, right here in the middle of fertile farmland, everything grows. Over these past couple of months, I have played with my kids amongst the citrus trees, a succulent garden, blossoms, and vegetable gardens, underneath a big blue sky.
I have also been spending a lot of time in my mom’s house full of antiques where everything is covered in flowers. I love art that brings the outdoors indoors. Because of this pandemic, it is more important than ever to spend time outdoors and to focus on creating a positive space indoors.
In the spirit of the ever-lush Central Valley I now call home (again), I have gathered some affordable vintage prints and printables to create a peaceful and natural space indoors – with help from lots of flowers, of course!
How do you bring the outdoors indoors with your decor? Leave me a comment below and let me know.
